"Band of Brothers"

Fall 2012 - (4-1)

RECENT NEWS:

  • Villanova played Rowan in two games this past Sunday.   The Cats lost game one 8-3.  Matt LaSorsa had perhaps one of the luckiest 3-4 days in all of baseball history.  The player of the game for the first game was pitcher Adam "Cheech" Chiciak.  He went for five innings with only 1 earned run and 3 K's.  Villanova rebounded in game 2 winning 2-1 in a nail-biter.  Pitcher and part-time actor Dan Devito pitched a great first four innings limiting Rowan to only 1 run.  Not to be outdone, Nolan Magee pitched the last 3 allowing no runs while gathering 4 K's.  Mike Guillaro was the star at the plate though.  He did the unthinkable and filled the stat sheet going 2-3 with 2 SB.  For this feat, he won player of the game. • Villanova Club baseball swept Princeton in 2 games on Saturday. Matt LaSorsa went 3-5 with a scorching high pop to the first base area.  It was hit so hard that all three players in around it couldn't even catch it.  For his efforts, he was awarded player of the game.  After some fine first base coaching in game one, Phil Doyle laced up his own spikes and provided a free clinic about how to hit doubles. All in all, he hit 3 doubles on his way to winning player of the game. (9/24/12)

  • Villanova beat LaSalle 15-1 on Saturday.  The cats got off to a slow start with the bats, but managed to manufacture 15 runs in 9 innings. The player of the game goes to Chris Kennedy for a 2-2 performance including a ringing double. (9/17/12)
