Talley is the all-time winningest football coach in Villanova history. His overall record of 176 wins, 112 losses and two ties also
makes him one of the winningest coaches in the country. Coach Talley's Wildcats have won 2 Yankee Conference titles,
two Atlantic 10 Conference Championships, and participated in five NCAA
Playoffs (1989, 1991, 1992, 1996, 1997), and his 1992 team won the Lambert
Meadowlands Trophy which is symbolic of the No. 1 college football team in
the east. Talley was named
the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year in 1997, and chosen to coach
the 1998 Hula Bowl. He was
Kodak Coach of the Year in 1982 and 1992.
Talley's 1997 Villanova team finished No. 1in the country and
posted the program's first-ever undefeated, untied full regular season.
One of the most consistent winners in college football, he is held
in highest esteem by his fellow coaches.

high school coaches.
