Adopt-A-Team: Verified all the teams to make sure teams know to complete their attendance for fall sports by the end of October with the fall seasons wrapping up

Game Day Signs: All the game day signs for every fall sport are up around campus. A suggestion was made to put the actual time of the event on the sign.

Special Olympics: The Special Olympics event is November 14 to the 16th. We would like as many teams to volunteer as possible. So far the Men’s Basketball, Women’s Swimming, Water Polo, Volleyball and Softball have signed up. An email from Julie regarding which event your team will participate, will be going out this week.

Talent Show: The tentative date will be Thursday, January 27th. Suggested ideas about prizes were gift certificates or catered dinners. Judges are also wanted (most likely support staff and AD’s), and the possibility of a DJ between acts. This event will be opened to the public as Will Sheridan and Karin Koller will make signs and flyers to hang up over campus.

Pen Pals: Please make sure your team members who are Pen Pals have their first letter written and handed to Julie by Wednesday, October 20th.

Athlete Fall BBQ: This event will be held on Sunday, October 31. Please get your teams social securities or banner codes to Julie so we can hand them to dining services to receive food. The event will most likely take place in Galberry lot (wildcat village old location) at 6:00 PM. Possibility of Halloween theme. If any SAAC rep is interested in helping coordinate this event, please let Julie know.

Ideas for Project: Various ideas were talked about for a new project to work on this year. Ideas included: Adopt an organization for more involvement between organizations on campus and spaotts teams, housing issues regarding student-athlete seniors, have the ability to keep textbooks, doing a special activity or event with the professors, doing something about allowing athletes to use meal plans at places such as Bartley and looking at dining hall hours and conflicts with practice.

Next Meeting: Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 8:00 P.M. St. Mary’s 015
